Here are a couple of sketches that I did to celebrate the best holiday of the year and my favorite movie. Halloween and Michael Myers, doesn’t get much better than that. So go devour some candy and scare the crap outta someone!

Here is a design I did awhile back for the Tilted Kilt Pub. I had a pretty good time creating this one. Hot chick, nice bike, short skirt… who wouldn’t. I’d like to thank my friend Tom over at Righteous Clothing for the hook up on this one.

Hey everyone, sorry about the lack of posts over these past few months. Sometimes ya just need a break. That and I’ve had a ton of stuff going on. Got a new day job (the main reason for me not posting), more and more freelance work as well as been traveling quite a bit. Now I’m back at it so, stay tuned for more regular posts.

Here’s another skull that I’ve been playin’ with. Not much to say about it. Just wanted to post it for you guys to see. Peace!- ShanesArt

Here are a couple vector pieces that I was playin’ around with the other day. After creating the original razor blade image I got the idea of combining it with a brass knuckle. Even though my illustration probably wouldn’t work in the real world (cause you’d more than likely cut your fingers off) it was fun to illustrate. Anyways, enjoy!- ShanesArt

Here’s another take on the “JUST DON’T” image that I worked on earlier this week. Every time I looked at it I thought it should be in one of those “truth” ads so I went and mocked one up. It’s a very simple ad and I think the image worked well with the over all design. Now keep in mind that this is just me playing around and not an actual ad. With that said,, enjoy! – ShanesArt

This morning after getting an awesome caricature illustration of Barack Obama from my friend Joel Carlo and watching Obama’s presidential inauguration I felt inspired. However, I didn’t have enough time to start a new illustration so I reworked the “Obama” vector illustration I did back in October. I was just playing around with it for a bit and came up with these two images. The top image is a poster layout that I’m going to put up for sale on my “TheUntappedSource.com” gallery and the other image is a background for my desktop.
All-in-all, it was a great day! Congrats Mr. Obama! Peace – ShanesArt

Here’s a little Photoshop work for ya. I’ve been wanting to brush up on my photo manipulation skills for awhile and since I have a friend that’s going through a rough time right now due to smoking I thought I’d put the two together and see what I could come up with. I’m pretty happy with the outcome and it was a blast throwing the images together. I highly recommend stepping out of the norm and try something else for a new change of pace.

Here’s a mockup of a type treatment and web layout that I designed last week. Since the web layout has your standard “blog” look to it, I thought I’d add some depth to the title bar. So, using Illustrator, I created a 3D look using just a few layers and some shadows. This allowed for a very crisp, clean look without the use of a 3D program. Granted, I could have achieved a similar look using a 3D program but, opted not to this time. All-in-all, I think it turned out well.

This was a commission piece for RockinBabySling.com. They wanted a revamp of their existing character design and asked me to see what I could come up with. They wanted me to change the character from the “club/party” mom to an older more mature “Rockin” mom. I think I did a pretty good job.
However, I’m not sure if they are going to use it or not so I thought I’d show it some love. I like the original sketch more but think the final vector piece came out well.
